For many years I worked for the BBC, starting my broadcasting career at BBC Radio Jersey in the Channel Islands.
Now, after many moons away from the microphone, I'M BACK!
I'm the Afternoon Show presenter/producer for the station which runs 1-4pm every weekday. We cover local issues, chat to local people and personalities and get into conversations about local events, initiatives and fun. This includes a weekly Wellbeing Hour (Wednesday 3-4pm) and we host the monthly Gardening Hour (first Friday of every month 3-4pm) We are also home to the BBC Radio Jersey Book of the Month Club, which we host with the Jersey Library.
I had presented the Afternoon Show previously and it was during a little run during late autumn 2014 that I was snapped with a VERY famous person in the children's entertainment world. The one and only ... Basil Brush ... who came into the studio with his co-presenter 'Mr Stephen' ... Chris Pizzey!
A crazy time was had by all!
Until recently I was faith producer for the station and I produced and presented Good Morning Jersey Sunday, a programme which celebrates the life of the faith community in the island. I am still involved in co-producing the Sunday Breakfast Show, which is currently a shared programme with BBC Radio Guernsey, and I occasionally still present the Sunday show as well.
Until recently I also produced and presented the Good Morning Jersey Saturday show on BBC Radio Jersey.
BBC Radio Jersey can be listened to live online or, if you're within listening distance, on 88.8fm and 1026mw.
On December 9th 2013 I was the guest of the wonderful Anna Cookson, who was presenting Premier Radio (London) Woman to Woman Show. I spent a fantastic hour or so chatting to Anna, mostly about my book 'William and Catherine - the love story of the founders of The Salvation Army told through their letters' (Monarch 2013) ... what an absolute privilege!
Right Click on the grey box and you should be able to hear the whole interview!
And here I am with Anna in the studio ... and afterwards .... a lovely morning all round!
Many thanks to Anna, and to Premier for letting me post this interview on my website
